It’s our address, but it’s not where we live. We believe you will enjoy our beautiful facilities. We have a newly remodeled sanctuary. We have a huge Family Life Center that hosts many activities and events. We have a building the youth can call all their own. It’s all very comfortable, and it can be very relaxing.
However, relaxed we are not. You can find us in the community helping those who need help. You will find us finding homes for those who need a home. You will find us providing food and clothes to those who are without. You will find us in another state helping to build a church. You will find us reaching out to other countries aiding however we can.
We love our church building, but it is not a retreat, but rather a takeoff point. Our calling is wherever God needs us—from our next-door neighbor to the four corners of the earth.
We don’t sit on the bench. We get into the game!
Everyone has a basic need to belong and at Spencer there is a place waiting just for you. At Spencer, you will discover your gifts and then have the opportunity to use them. And the opportunities are endless.
Interested in music? Sports? Youth trips? Outreach ministries? We have these and more. We have small groups, we have fellowship dinners, we haveBible studies, we teach kids to read and learn better. Why? To make a difference in our people, our community and our world… and you!
At Spencer, there are no second-string players. Everyone gets into the game!
I don’t want to go to Disney World! I want to go to Church!
Okay… maybe that’s a little bit of a stretch. But we have a lot of excitement here at Spencer for kids. And the feeling is that if they aren’t here, they will miss out on something cool—and they are right!
It may be children’s Sunday School. Or it may be Missions in Action on Wednesday nights. Or it may be a special trip to the zoo in the summer. Or it may be an adventurous Vacation Bible School. Or… maybe it’s a Super Buddy teacher helping a child with their schoolwork. Or maybe it’s the Sonshine Bunch entertaining young and old alike with with their puppetry. Or it may be the senior’s Kitchen Band singing and playing in their unique way. Whatever it is, they will learn about God in a way that touches their whole lives. We don’t just read Bible stories to them, we reach their hearts and their spirits to build character and deepen their understanding.
So if you have kids, bring them! We may not be Disney World, but we do have a lot of fun. And everything we do presents another opportunity to show your child who Jesus is and a chance to build a faith on which they can live their lives.
So what is it all about?… really?
Although we have many wonderful and exciting activities and a spacious place in which to have them, that is not what we are all about. Quite simply we are about one thing: Our love for Jesus Christ. That’s it—the bottom line.
We worship to praise Him. We study to know Him better. We fellowship to share concerns and celebrate each other’s lives. We reach out to the community and the world to share what Jesus has shared with us. Our efforts are full-bore… we never stop. Why? Because to make a difference we can’t stop. To never stop means we give purpose to people’s lives. It means we have hope for today and God’s promises for tomorrow. God will lead us there. Where God guides, He will provide.
Everything we do is for Jesus—Him and Him alone. Our prayer is that if you visit us at Spencer, you will see Jesus, and come to know Him better.
